Our SEND Team

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo) is responsible for coordinating provision for children with SEND across the federation, in line with our Inclusion Policy, which can be found on the school website. SEND provision is led by a team working across both Harlaxton and Denton schools.

Mrs Harper – SENDCo

Mrs Harper has completed the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (NASENCo) and has many years of experience working in SEND. She works closely with children, families, staff and external professionals to identify needs, coordinate appropriate support and monitor the impact of SEND provision.

Mrs Mackey – Assistant SENDCo and Wellbeing Lead

Mrs Mackey supports Mrs Harper in coordinating SEND provision across the federation, while also leading on wellbeing. She has completed a range of additional training, including Mental Health First Aid and Leading a Mentally Healthy School, supporting our whole-school approach to children's emotional health and wellbeing.

Mrs Whitworth – Learning Mentor and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Mrs Whitworth is one of our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs) and is a trained Learning Mentor. She supports children and families through Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) approaches and can support families with Early Help Assessments (EHA) and Team Around the Family (TAF) processes. She works closely with families, school staff and other professionals to ensure that appropriate support is coordinated around the child and family.
