Welcome to an exciting new term in Year 2! Our essential question this term is:

“What makes Britain great?”

 

Together, we will explore, discover, create and learn through lots of exciting and fun activities. We will learn more about the country we live in, discovering fascinating places, traditions and celebrations, as well as exploring some of the important events and people who have shaped our history.We have lots of exciting learning planned and can’t wait to see where our adventures take us this term! Together, we will learn, grow and have fun!

 

Maths 

So far, we have looked at numbers and their value. We have explored tens and ones using manipulatives (counters) and drawings (we even went outside and used chalk!)

 

English 

Our text this term is Paddington Bear. We have enjoyed sharing the picture book and are also reading the novel as our class story text. We have used a version called 'A Bear Called Pad' to help us understand character descriptions. Do you like our drawings of 'Pad' below?

 

Science 

We have looked at materials. We found plastic, metal and glass easily but had to really investigate to find fabric, rubber and wood. Look at us hunting around the classroom and school.
