Until my recent retirement I worked in Education. I was a Headteacher in Essex and then in Nottinghamshire after which I worked for the School Improvement (Advisory and Inspectorate) Department in Nottinghamshire then in Leicestershire. I was a qualified OFSTED Inspector and a School Improvement Partner. During my time in Leicestershire I had many roles and responsibilities which included:
Working with Headteachers to analyse performance data and identify priorities.
Overseeing thirty two Primary schools.
Supporting and challenging schools in monitoring and evaluating performance and progress.
Being on the interviewing panel for Headteacher appointments.
Leading School Reviews where standards and attainment needed to improve.
Line managing the Governor Services Department for the County – hosting termly Chair of Governors meetings, training Governors and developing new courses.
Identifying and developing future leaders for our schools – providing courses, mentoring and long term career development and pathways.
Working with the National College of Leadership on National Leaders in Education and Local Leaders in Education programmes.
Leading the Small Schools in Leicestershire which included collaboration with Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
I was born in Grantham and after Primary School attended KGGS. I have lived in Harlaxton for 30 years during which our three children attended Harlaxton Primary school then the local secondary schools. They are all now married and I have three lovely grandchildren. My personal interest is in Modern Contemporary Dance and I am a supporter of Rambert (Dance Company) and Sadlers Wells. I also attend a weekly dance class and am an active member of Ragdale Hall. I have attended St Mary and St Peter’s Church throughout my time in the village and am now serving on the PPC again hence my role as Foundation Governor.
