Mr M Lee-Smith (Co-Opted Member)

"Born and raised in Lincolnshire, I now live in Grantham with my wife Michelle and two beautiful children.

Currently working as Head of Opportunity Management at Capita, I am accountable for the delivery of high profile, multi-million-pound programmes of work across a range of sectors, including education. These initiatives provide a wide variety of opportunities to deliver tangible changes to people in all walks of life all over the UK.  Something that both drives and excites me in equal measure.

With my Son and Daughter both in attendance at Harlaxton Primary, I am keen to assist the federation wherever possible by transferring the skills I have acquired in my day-to-day role across to the position of Co-Opted Governor.

In my spare time I am a karate practitioner, formally training in Bedfordshire under Sensei Peter Spanton (the first person to be awarded a Karate black belt in the UK). Following success as National Kumite Champion in 2009, I took a break from the sport and now practice with the Belvoir Karate Group in and around the Vale of Belvoir, purely for fun rather than competition.

I look forward to working both with you and for you to successfully deliver positive change into the trust, underpinning our mission statement to Learn, Encourage, Aspire, Respect and Nurture."
