I have been a teacher for 29 years and I have worked at Denton School for 17 of those years. I have three children who all attended Denton School and greatly benefitted from the small, friendly environment which enabled them to develop into confident young people.
During my time at the school I progressed to Assistant Head teacher and more recently my role evolved into Deputy Headteacher at Denton. I have taught all year groups and currently teach one and a half days a week at Denton. I also work at Harlaxton School as SENDCo and have been awarded a ‘Specialist Leader in Education’ for this role which means I work with other schools assisting and advising them on SEND provision.
I am an experienced member of the governing body having been staff governor since starting at Denton and then continuing in the role through Denton and Harlaxton’s federation. My length of time in education has meant I understand and appreciate the unique nature of the two schools very well - I have seen the huge improvement in the two schools over the years and have a desire to keep on developing both Denton and Harlaxton, maintaining and evolving a learning environment that continues to be outstanding.
