I am very pleased to have been elected as a Parent Governor for the Harlaxton and Denton Federation of Schools
I have had a varied career since graduating from Liverpool University, from management in a major retail chain to being a self-employed travel agent and leading to my current role of selling school travel to schools from all over the world.
I have lived in Grantham for the past 15 years and have been involved in the local community in Harlaxton for the last 9 years. Whilst my daughter has been at Harlaxton school, I have taken an interest in the school and have tried to help support both the individual class teachers and the whole school in various ways; I have given a talk to the class relating to their African study topic based on my travel experiences and have an ongoing role in supporting my wife, Sarah, in her role as PTA vice-chair and organising teams to participate in the annual Rotary Swimarathon as a way of promoting the school to a wider population in Grantham. I attend events in the village in relation to the Church and Harlaxton social committee and see these events as another way to promote the school outside of the academic arena.
I look forward to seeing the schools developing over the next few years and being able to play a part in that progression and seeing the potential of the pupils being realised in these challenging times.
